An established, and financially well backed London based residential developer, with a strong international presence is now looking to strengthen its team with the appointment of an experienced Development Manager. The role is based in London and will be working on London based projects.
You will report to the Land and Planning Director and be responsible for new projects from acquisitions through to handover to the construction team.
Key responsibilities of the position will include:
Assess the viability of a site taking into consideration to include Sales, Commercial, Technical and Construction.
Liaise with consultants as required to determine the optimum development solution or addressing planning obstructions prior to working up the land appraisal.
Assess planning risk in conjunction with the planning team and external consultants.
Appraise any S106 costs or other planning gain costs as required and monitor their on-going delivery.
Following purchase of the site to provide a site file information pack to the Commercial, Technical and Construction departments.
To appoint professional teams of consultants in conjunction with the Land and Planning Director and set out what is required of them.
To assess the likely success at the planning stage of any layout prepared.
Report as required progress on all sites currently either under consideration or progressing through the purchase phase
Progress negotiations with planning authorities, RSL’s, Highways Authorities and land owners in conjunction with other departments
Competently manage the land and planning budgets
To maintain responsibility for the implementation of all land, planning and related matters throughout the lifetime of a project
You will have strong experience in a development management position having ideally progressed from a land or planning background. Detailed experience in London residential projects is required. Previous experience of leading and managing a scheme from acquisition through to completion is required.
