Senior Analyst, Transactions UK and pan-European Portfolio Management
The successful candidate will have experience in the UK real estate industry whilst European experience would be beneficial but not essential, having worked for either property companies, consultancy firms or institutional fund managers.
The candidate will report to the Managing Director Head of UK Real Estate Transactions and support the Managing Director of Portfolio Management.
The role is based in the London office (City).
Primary responsibilities in Transactions include:
Work within the UK Acquisitions team in the underwriting and due diligence of new investments, especially on refurbishment costs and CapEx needs;
Developing and maintaining financial models to underwrite new deals and to monitor ongoing investment performance;
Preparation of detailed investment memos to be presented to the investment committee;
Assisting with investment due diligence including co-ordinating third party service providers (especially technical advisers) and reviewing due diligence reports; and
Assist the wider acquisitions team with deal sourcing;
Primary responsibilities in Portfolio Management include:
Working with the Portfolio Management team on a Pan European Logistics mandate;
Supporting the Portfolio Manager, contributing to deal and portfolio analysis, support, prepare and challenge decision making for the portfolio;
Drive reporting as well as business planning towards investors; and
Communicate effectively with JV Partners to deliver regular updates to the existing portfolio as well as to ongoing acquisitions;
This element of the role is likely to grow in time and provide short term potential to become a full time responsibility providing the candidate with some optionality for career progression.
Required skills and experience:
Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of other European languages will be a plus;
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing;
Ability to work and think independently;
Keen attention to detail;
Understanding of property investment appraisal techniques;
Advanced excel modelling skills at property and ideally fund level;
Ability to identify risk in new and / or existing transactions and to effectively develop and implement mitigation strategies; and
Ability to work collaboratively and internationally across the platform as needed.
